H.R. 5808 – Public Transportation Security Assistance Act of 2006 - A bill to authorize the Secretary of Transportation to make grants to public transportation agencies and over-the-road bus operators to improve security, and for other purposes. The BCTD is interested in application of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements to projects funded under the bill. H.R. 5815 - Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Facility Authorization Act of 2006 -- A bill authorizing major medical facilities projects and lease of major medical facilities for the Department of Veterans Affairs for FY 2006 and 2007. BCTD is interested in application of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements to projects funded under the bill. S. 852, S. 3274 - The Fair Asbestos Injury Resolution Act -- Bills to provide compensation to victims of asbesos exposure, by establishing a national trust fund financed by entities with asbestos liability. BCTD is interested in all provisions, including establishment of fund, funding levels, compensation levels, eligibility requirements and compensation awards. S. 2459 - GreenLane Maritime Cargo Security Act -- A bill to improve cargo security, and for other purposes. BCTD is interested in application of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements to projects funded under the bill. S. 2611 - Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006 - A bill to provide for comprehensive immigration reform and for other purposes. BCTD is interested in guest worker provisions, including prevailing wage protections and employment of undocumented workers. H.R. 6 – Climate and Economy Insurance Act of 2007 – A bill to reduce U.S. dependency on foreign oil by investing in clean, renewable, and alternative energy resources, promoting new emerging energy technologies, developing greater efficiency, and creating a Strategic Energy Efficiency and Renewables Reserve to invest in alternative energy, and for other purposes. BCTD interested provisions that would impose “Buy American” and “Employ American” requirements on recipients of oil and gas leases from the United States for offshore energy exploration. H.R. 1107 – Dam Rehabilitation and Repair Act – A bill to amend the National Dam Safety Program Act to establish a program to provide grant assistance to states to rehabilitate and repair deficient dams. Interested in application of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements to construction, repair and/or alteration of dams. H.R. 4761 – Deep Ocean Energy Resources Act of 2006 – A bill to provide for exploration, development, and production activities for mineral resources on the outer Continental Shelf, and for other purposes. BCTD interested in including an amendment that impose “Buy American” and “Employ American” requirements on recipients of oil and gas leases from the United States for offshore energy exploration. H.R. 4954—Port Security Improvement Act — A bill to improve maritime and cargo security through enhanced defenses and for other purposes. BCTD interested in application of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements to projects funded under the bill. H.R. 5070 - Trade Preference Extension and Expansion Act of 2006 – A bill that proposes to extend the Andean Trade Preference Act through 2007. BCTD interested in effect of free trade agreements on enforcement of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements. H.R. 5714 – Rail and Public Transportation Security Act of 2006 – A bill to improve the security of rail and public transportation systems in the United States, and for other purposes. BCTD is interested in application of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements to projects funded under the bill. H.R. 5928 - 21st Century High-Performance Public School Facilities Act of 2006 – A bill requiring the Secretary of Education to make annual grants to local educational agencies (LEAs) in each state for the construction, modernization, or repair of kindergarten, elementary, or secondary schools, and to make low-interest loans to LEAs in each fiscal year; and that establishes the School Construction, Modernization, and Repair Revolving Fund. BCTD is interested in assuring application of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements to all construction, repair and/or alteration of school assisted under the Act. H.R. 6061 – Secure Fence Act of 2006 – A bill to extend fences and barriers along southern borders of U.S. BCTD interested in application of Davis-Bacon Act to projects funded under the bill. H.RES. 925, S.3569 and H.R.5684 – United States-Oman Free Trade Implementation Act of 2006 – A bill to implement the United States-Oman Free Trade Agreement. BCTD interested in effect of free trade agreements on enforcement of Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements.
