H.R. 3643/S. 2082 - The Coordinated Environmental Public Health Network Act of 2007 This bill would create a coordinated national health tracking program to examine the links between Americans' health and their exposure to environmental contaminants. The Breast Cancer Fund is interested because this would help identify the environmental causes of breast cancer. S. 2275 and H.R. 4030 The Children's Chemical Risk Reduction Act These bills would prohibit the manufacture, sale, or distribution in commerce of certain children's products and child care articles that contain phthalates. Phthalates are known to be linked with breast cancer development, so the Breast Cancer Fund is interested in eliminating them from consumer products. S. 2045 and H.R. 4040 The Consumer Product Safety Commission Reform Act These bills would broadly reform and modernize the Consumer Product Safety Commission. The Breast Cancer fund has lobbied in support of a Feinstein amendment, which inserts phthalates as a banned substance in the manufacture of childrens toys.
