A New Policy lobbied Congress on a series of new Bills that would significantly curtail the First Amendment freedoms of students and academic institutions, several of whose titles misrepresent the substance of the bills as protections against hate crimes when the Bills in face are designed to quash free speech on U.S. foreign policy. Bills lobbied on in this line of activity are: H.R. 406, the PROTECT Jewish Students and Faculty Act H.R. 1007, the Antisemitism Awareness Act of 2025 H.R. 1033, the COLUMBIA Act of 2025 H.R. 2204, To require an institution of higher education that becomes aware that a student having nonimmigrant status under subparagraph (F)(i) or (J) of section 101(a)(15) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(15)) has endorsed or supported a foreign terrorist organization to notify the SEVIS, and for other purposes. H.R. 2446, the Stop Antisemitism on College Campuses Act. H.R.2272 - To make certain individuals ineligible to receive any Federal financial aid under title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 S. 1069, the RECLAIM Act of 2025 S. 826, the Preventing Antisemitic Harassment on Campus Act of 2025.
