We have lobbied the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to expedite the release of the Household Goods Consumer Protection Working Group report, the result of a working group formed in response to a provision in the FAST Act. The in-person meetings are done, and we met with FMCSA to get briefed on its progress. We have also met with various Congressional offices to evaluate future options to include potential legislative language in a highway bill to codify these recommendations. No language has been introduced.

We have lobbied Members of Congress in support of S.998/H.R. 4403, the Moving Americans Privacy Protection Act. The bill seeks to direct US Customs and Border Protection to scrub consumers' personal information (social security number, passport number) before it is sold to third-party data brokers, as is the current practice for manifest information collected on international moves.

U.S. Transportation Command (USTC), within DoD, is pushing to outsource the management of the Defense Personal Property Program (DP3) to sole source provider. We have lobbied Congress to closely examine this decision and USTC's process. We have asked offices to include language in the upcoming National Defense Reauthorization Act (NDAA) to delay the sole source award until a DP3 Working Group is established and issues recommendations on how to improve the program. We have also sent letters to General Lyons at USTC to ask for the same.
We have lobbied the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to expedite release of the Household Goods Consumer Protection Working Group report, the result of a working group formed in response to a provision in the FAST Act. The in person meetings are done and we met with FMCSA to get briefed on it's progress. We briefly met with one House office to prepare them for our eventual push on the issue, legislatively, once the report is released.
