A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Secretary of Agriculture relating to inspection of fish of the order Siluriformes.

TFB opposed S.J. Res 28 which would overturn statutorily required imported catfish inspection by the United States Department of Agriculture Food Safety Inspection Service. Instead it would transfer inspection to the Food and Drug Administration. Keeping the inspection with FSIS provides more safety to consumers and helps protect domestic production from a devastating loss of finding adulterated fish on dinner tables. TFB also opposed the misuse of the Congressional Review Act to circumvent Congressional Intent.
