Work to get the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability ratified
Appropriations and budget issues for the Protection and Advocacy programs and the Client Assistance Program. Specifically, ensuring that the FY 15 money is released in a timely fashion to the agencies following completion of the FY 15 appropriations process. Then we started advocating for increases in the FY 16 appropriations cycle. We also are working for increases in overall health care (including substance use and mental health treatment) funding, education, transportation, and housing appropriations for individuals with disabilities. Finally, working to get rid of the negative effects of sequestration on non discretionary defense budgets.
