New London CT is a small deepwater port with freight,a submarine base, tourism sites and most recently construction & operationof the former dated cargo port into a facility that can assemble stantions for wind propelled electric generation & upgrade general freight traffic. Many of the former & latter we service with our ferries and tug services. After the wind stantion construction is complete, the lessor of the port facilities has stated it will reopen for container and break bulk cargo for movement by the adjacent I-95,I-395 or the adjacent regional railroads.
Working with client and Congressional Office(s) to register seasonal workers from outside the United States.
Coordinate efforts with the Thames Heritage park which administers a wide variety of activies for tourists in and around the harbor. The CT congressional delegation has also secured funding to support regional railroad systems. As a mutimodal port client also facilitated passengers from Long Island New York (& seasonally Block Island Rhode Island) as well as passenger & freight connections with AMTRAK and regional shipping. Construction has been completed giving the New Enland Railroad Company direct access the major piers and downtown waterfront & transport north as far as Canada.
Placement of dredged spoils in LI Sound, Other issues regarding Thames Shipyard of its equipment, as well as our ferries. As noted previously,CSF also has obtained funding to make certain that ships engines are as environmentally friendly as possible.
Working with State and City of New London to develop additional adjacent parking not only principal business use, but also anticipating larger crowds with the opening of the National US Coast Guard Museum.
On various occasions have had to speak with CT's Members of Congress to make them aware of any negative or positive impacts on Cross Sound Ferry and its sister Thames Ship Yard.
