Working with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to monitor the volatility associated with the CME Group's Live Cattle futures contract and to try and determine if automated trading is unduly impacting the market. Also working with House and Senate Agriculture Committees to engage with CFTC as well.
Working on FY17 Agriculture Appropriations bills (HR 5054 and S 2956) to defund any action by USDA to work on a rule similar to the proposed GIPSA rule of 2010. Working on FY17 Energy and Water Development (HR 5055, HR 2028, and S 2804) and Intertior/EPA (HR 5538 and S3068) appropriations bills to defund EPA's implementation of the WOTUS rule. Worked to include this provisions in the proposed FY17 omnibus appropriations bill which was not completed.
