The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW)supports passage of the Good Jobs for 21st Century Energy Act (S. 2185). This legislation would create a 10 percent tax credit for the construction of clean energy projects that meet certain labor standards. This legislation has the potential to provide employers with a significant incentive to employ thousands of IBEW members in building out low and zero carbon energy projects around the United States. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) supports passage of the Nuclear Powers America Act (H.R. 2314/S. 1134). This legislation would support the work of over 15,000 IBEW members by providing an investment tax credit for existing nuclear generation. The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) supports the enactment of Incentivizing New and Valuable Energy Storage Technology (INVEST) Act (H.R. 5409), legislation that would provide an investment tax credit (ITC) for energy storage that would allow regulated utilities the ability to utilize the tax credit up front without havingto spread out savings over the life of a major capital project. This legislation has the potential to benefit several large IBEW employers build out energy storage project that would help support renewable energy generation and lower carbon emissions while creating union jobs.
