Support Civil Rights Principles for Hiring Assessment Technologies (Hiring assessments should not discriminate; Hiring assessments should measure traits and skills that are important to job performance; Applicants should be meaningfully notified about how they will be assessed; Hiring assessments should be thoroughly and regularly audited; and Federal and state policymakers should develop new legal and technical standards. In addressing the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress has yet to address the needs of people who need language and communications assistance. Support Congress addressing the lack of resources and civil rights enforcements Support H.R. 8436, the Equal Health Care for All Act, which would to apply a civil rights frame to the issue of inequitable care. Support HR40, which establishes a commission to review Reparations proposals Support a Department of Education Civil Rights Data Collection that is comprehensive, timely, and accessible to all. Support S. 4801 to provide that all persons shall be entitled to the full and equal enjoyment of the goods, services, facilities, privileges, and accommodations of financial institutions. Support legislation to provide funding for state and local responses to include LEP populations, as well as ensure that federal agencies take steps to ensure equal access to COVID-19 programs. This bill expands upon the already introduced COVID-19 Language Access Act (H.R.6623). Support S. 4533, the Anti-Racism in Public Health Act of 2020, which would to provide for public health research and investment into understanding and eliminating structural racism and police violence Support urge all students, educators, and families to rally to advance inclusive and welcoming environments in all schools that celebrate and affirm LGBTQ+ students and staff. Support H,R, 8474, the Jobs and Justice Act, which is an omnibus bill to advance Black families, with provisions to combat the spread of COVID-19, advance economic and educational opportunities, address health disparities, reform the criminal justice system from end to end, and expand access to the ballot. Support the Social Security Administration (SSA) collecting and regularly reporting data about race and ethnicity. We already know that due to differences in earnings over time and other factors, Social Security benefit amounts are lower for people of color than for White beneficiaries. However, we cannot understand the scope or cause of much of the racial disparities in the Social Security system, including in rates of denials, allowances, or other outcomes, until we have a more accurate and comprehensive snapshot of the racial and ethnic makeup of claimants and beneficiaries. Support an investigation into the Trump administrations efforts to politicize intelligence activity with respect to the threat white supremacists pose to national security and the direct link to the undermining of civil and human rights. Support Californias Proposition 16, which would repeal the ban on affirmative action in public higher education, government contracting, and public employment. Express our strong concerns about Facebooks repeated failure to meaningfully address the vast proliferation of hate on its platforms. Support an aggressive, bold, effective and comprehensive stimulus package to provide relief for much of the needless suffering and a myriad of areas that is occurring across our nation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Support the election protection provisions in HR 6800, the HEREOS Act. This provides $3.6 billion and voting rights guardrails that are necessary to help state and local governments adequately prepare for the November 2020 elections. Oppose the nomination of William Pendley for Director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Support HR 4, support that we honor the life and legacy of the late Representative John Lewis by passing federal legislation to safeguard the fundamental right to vote. H.R. 4 would restore, repair, and strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Support extending the statutory reporting deadlines for the 2020 Census by four months. Support language in the next Senate COVID relief package that would extend the statutory reporting deadlines for the 2020 Census by four months. This language is necessary to ensure the Census Bureau is not forced to rush remaining enumeration operations and critical data review, processing, and tabulation activities. Support legislation to provide funding for state and local responses to include LEP populations, as well as ensure that federal agencies take steps to ensure equal access to COVID-19 programs. This bill expands upon the already introduced COVID-19 Language Access Act (H.R.6623). Support S. 4665 / H. Support H.R. 6017, the Twenty First Century Courts Act, which would enhance the accountability of, as well as accessibility and transparency within, the federal judiciary Support the Fourth Amendment Is Not For Sale Act, which closes loopholes in the law that currently permit data brokers and other firms without a direct relationship to consumers to sell Americans private information to the government without a court order. Support an investigation into the Trump administrations efforts to politicize intelligence activity with respect to the threat white supremacists pose to national security and the direct link to the undermining of civil and human rights. Support efforts to hold Acting Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf and the other political appointees at the Department of Homeland Security accountable for their dangerous efforts to coverup what they perceived as politically damaging intelligence activity regarding the threat of white supremacist activity. Support not considering any nominee to fill the seat left empty on the U.S. Supreme Court by Judge Ginsburgs passing until after the next President is sworn in. Support an aggressive, bold, effective and comprehensive stimulus package to provide relief for much of the needless suffering and a myriad of areas that is occurring across our nation as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Support $50 billion for child care in the next COVID-19 package. Oppose the the HEALS Acts $15 billion investment which would keep the system afloat for less than two months and falls far short of the at least $50 billion that is needed to stabilize the system Support substantial funding specifically for K-12 education and higher education, in an upcoming legislative package designed to address the continuing challenges and aftermath presented by COVID-19 Support legislation to provide funding for state and local responses to include LEP populations, as well as ensure that federal agencies take steps to ensure equal access to COVID-19 programs. These unprecedented times require extraordinary, bold, new, and well-honed leadership and empathy by our federal government. The Delivering Immediate Relief to Americas Families, Schools and Small Businesses Act is not bold, comprehensive, nor does it meet the immediate and diverse needs of the American people right now.
