Accelerating Kids' Access to Care Act This bill requires state Medicaid programs to establish a process through which qualifying out-of-state providers may enroll as participating providers without undergoing additional screening requirements. Among other things, a qualifying provider must (1) serve minors, or adults whose condition began as a minor; and (2) have previously been screened for Medicare participation or for participation in the Medicaid program of the state in which the provider is located.

Boston Children's Hospital focuses on child health access especially with respect to the Medicaid and CHIP programs. In the current Congress, we have sought to insure that children's' access to care through the Medicaid and CHIP programs is adequately funded. We have advocated for policies that enable complex pediatric patients to travel across state lines through the Accelerating Kids Access to Care Act (S. 1544 and H.R. 3089) and have been actively involved in efforts to simplify screening and enrollment for out of state providers treating these children.
