Oppose the leaked version of a housing finance proposal from U.S. Senators Bob Corker (TN) and Mark Warner (VA) that would severely harm Americas housing market. Our opposition is mainly rooted in the proposals negative impact on access, affordability, and market stability. Support an increase in the availability of safe, decent, affordable low-income housing. Support the National Housing Trust Fund Support a comprehensive program to combat homelessness Support an increase in resources to fight housing discrimination Support Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing; oppose its immediate suspension Support the Disparate Impact rule; disparate impact claims are critical to ensuring that systemic housing discrimination that occurs through facially neutral policies or practices can be challenged and dismantled. Oppose any change to the current rule Support $50 million for the Housing Choice Voucher Mobility Demonstration in the 2019 HUD funding bill Support at least $393 million for the Housing Opportunities for people with AIDS (HOPWA) in FY2019. Support S. 3503, the American Housing and Economic Mobility Act of 2018, legislation introduced by Senator Elizabeth Warren which would reduce the cost of housing across America by creating incentives for local governments to eliminate unnecessary land use restrictions that drive up costs; control the cost of renting or buying a home by leveraging federal funding to build 3 million new housing units for lower-income and middle-class families in urban, suburban and rural areas; provide assistance to people hurt by federal housing policy failures through two targeted new programs; hold financial institutions accountable for providing access to credit for all Americans; and promote mobility by strengthening anti-discrimination laws and improving the housing voucher program Strongly oppose any efforts to streamline, the Affirmatively Furthering Far Housing (AFFH) rule or otherwise make any changes to the Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing (AFFH) rule as it was finalized on July 16, 2015. Support HR 5793 / S 2945, the Housing Choice Voucher Mobility Demonstration Act, which authorizes the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to implement a mobility demonstration program to enable public housing agencies (PHAs) to administer housing-choice rental-assistance vouchers in a manner designed to: (1) encourage low-income families receiving such assistance to move to lower-poverty areas, and (2) expand access to opportunity areas. Support S. 3503, the American Housing and Economic Mobility Act of 2018, which would help to alleviate the pervasive shortage of affordable housing in communities throughout our country Support FHFA carefully considering the link between capital levels, pricing, and access to credit as it works to finalize its rule on FHFA Capital Requirements. Further, it is first critical to remember the primary drivers of the 2008 financial crisis and how those conditions have changed, affecting both the likelihood and severity of a future crisis. Next, the assumptions and mechanics of setting the capital regime must be closely examined in order to both set aside sufficient capital and enable the GSEs to provide their essential support for the housing market
