Participated with the Outdoor Recreation Industry Roundtable meeting with Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) to push the importance of maintaining funding for the national parks. The Senator chairs both the ENR Subcommittee on National Parks and the Ag Subcommittee on Conservation, Forestry and Natural Resources. He is a big supporter of Great Outdoors Month, gaining Senate approval of his bipartisan resolution (S Res 199). He is holding a hearing on 9/27 on Getting the Next Generation of Americans to Parks and has similar interests with ORIR to pursue expansion of concessionaire-provided visitor services and more inducements for private investments to enhance and expand visitor infrastructure.
