S.4 Rebuild America Act Create jobs and support businesses while improving the nation's global competitiveness by modernizing TCU supports the bill because it is good for working families and the future of our country. S.204 A bill to preserve and protect the free choice of individual employees to form, join, or assist labor organizations, or to refrain from such activities. This Act may be cited as the ''National Right-to-Work Act''. TCU Opposes the Budget Instead, the plan written by Budget Committee ChairmanPaul Ryan which passed on a 221-207 party-line vote would reduce spending on the Medicaid health care plan for the poor and eliminate "Obamacare" subsidies. It exempts the Pentagon and Social Security beneficiaries from spending cuts but revives a plan to turn Medicare into a voucher-like system for beneficiaries born in 1959 or later. H.RES.15 Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the Transportation Security Administration should, in accordance with existing law, enhance security against terrorist attack and other security threats to our Nation's rail and mass transit systems and other modes of surface transportation; and for other purposes. TCU supports the bill to keep our country safe. H.R.152 Disaster Relief Appropriations Act, 2013 Makes supplemental appropriations for FY2013 to specified federal agencies and programs for expenses related to the consequences of Hurricane Sandy. TCU supports because it provides needed relief to the distressed transportation systems in the Northeast. H.R.933 Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2013 Appropriates funds for FY2013 for active-duty and reserve personnel in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force (the military departments), and for National Guard personnel in the Army and Air Force. TCU supports the bill to keep the government running through FY 2013. The Bill funds MAP 21 (Commuter Rail and Transit) and it restores student enrollments to the Job Corp program. H.R.946 National Right-to-Work Act Amends the National Labor Relations Act and the Railway Labor Act to repeal those provisions that permit employers, pursuant to a collective bargaining agreement that is a union security agreement, to require employees to join a union as a condition of employment (including provisions permitting railroad carriers to require, pursuant to such an agreement, payroll deduction of union dues or fees as a condition of employment). TCU opposes the bill as it is designed to depress workers wages and take away a basic right for workers to join a union. H.R.949 Invest in American Jobs Act of Invest in American Jobs Act of 2013 - Revises Buy American requirements with respect to federal-aid highways, capital investment grants to support intercity passenger rail service (rail grants), and Amtrak, particularly the handling of waiver requests. TCU supports the bill to create American jobs and build a better passenger rail system in the US. H.R.1120 Preventing Greater Uncertainty in Labor-Management Relations Act Requires the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to cease all activity that requires a quorum of Board members. Prohibits the Board from implementing, administering, or enforcing any decision, rule, vote, or other action decided, undertaken, adopted, issued, or finalized on or after January 4, 2012, that requires a quorum of the Board members. TCU opposes the bill because it gives management the upper hand at the workplace and takes workers rights away. H.R.3 Northern Route Approval Act Declares that a presidential permit shall not be required for the pipeline described in the application filed on May 4, 2012, by TransCanada Keystone Pipeline, L.P. to the Department of State for the Keystone XL pipeline, including the Nebraska reroute evaluated in the Final Evaluation Report issued by the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality in January 2013 and approved by the Nebraska governor. TCU supports the Bill as it would create badly needed jobs. TCU supports this bill as it creates jobs. H.R.1539 Northeast Corridor Rail Tunnel Safety Act Authorizes appropriations to the Secretary of Transportation (DOT) for Amtrak use, after the Secretary has received and approved a project engineering and financial plan, to complete New York tunnel life safety projects and to rehabilitate tunnels in Washington, DC, and Baltimore, Maryland. TCU supports this bill as it creates jobs. H.J.RES.59 Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2014 Makes continuing appropriations for FY2014. TCU supports the Senate CR to keep the government running and our members working. TCU does not support the Bill inasmuch as it has no chance of passing and a government would hurt our members. H.R.2397 Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2014 Appropriates funds for FY2014 for active-duty and reserve personnel in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force (the military departments), and for National Guard personnel in the Army and Air Force. We don't support as it cuts vital transportation modes and hurts the economy. It also puts our members out of work. We support the Administration's approach to funding transportation particularly Passenger Rail. H.R.2610 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2014 Makes appropriations for FY2014 to the Department of Transportation (Sec. 150) Declares that funds provided in this Act for the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) shall immediately cease to be available to Amtrak in the event that it contracts to have provided at or from any location outside the United States any service that was, as of July 1, 2006, performed by a full-time or part-time Amtrak employee whose base of employment is located within the United States.(Sec. 151) Authorizes the Secretary to receive cash or spare parts from non-federal sources to repair damages to or replace federally-owned automated track inspection cars and equipment as a result of third party liability for such damages. (Sec. 152) Authorizes the Secretary to allow the issuer of any preferred stock heretofore sold to DOT to redeem or repurchase it upon the payment to DOT of an amount the Secretary determines. (Sec. 153) Bars the use of funds for Amtrak to pay overtime costs in excess of $35,000 for any Amtrak employee. Authorizes the president of Amtrak to waive such cap in cases where it poses a risk to the safety and operational efficiency of the Amtrak system. TCU does not support because it is inadequate funding for Amtrak and other important transportation projects. H.J.Res.124 - Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2015 The Continuing Appropriations Resolution, 2015 provides continuing FY2015 appropriations to federal agencies until December 11, 2014, or enactment of specified appropriations legislation. TCU supports to keep American workers on the job.H.R.5449 113th Congress (2013-2014) Passenger Rail Reform and Investment Act of 2014 To reauthorize Federal support for passenger rail programs, and for other purposes. We supports HR5449 Amtrak Authorization Bill because it protects our members and keeps Amtrak operating and growing into the future.
